Anjani was a celestial nymph(semi goddess) in her previous birth but was cursed by an Indian sage to be born as a monkey. Anjani was very devoted to Lord Shiva. She pleased Lord Shiva & Lord Pawan(Pawan means air/wind), the god of wind with her penance.

As a result of her penance, Pawan- the god of wind blessed Anjani to have a son with incredible strength who would be able to be air-borne, fly commute at unmatched speeds. Lord Shiva being pleased with Anjani’s devotion & penance agreed to be re-incarnate as her son.

Hail Lord Ram- Indian Hallelujah/ Halleluya

It is understood that Hallelujah/Halleluya means “praise the lord” in Hebrew. It is a cry of emotion, devotion, praise & gratitude which appears in the bible many times.

Similarly “Hail Lord Ram” is the Indian equivalent of Halleluyah. Here the devotee expresses his devotion, gratitude, praise & emotion towards Lord Ram

Hanuman is well known for his profound devotion to Lord Ram. Lord Ram is the re-incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Pawan putra, as he is endearingly addressed, dedicated his entire life in the service of Lord Ram. In his words, “I am subservient to Lord Ram. And Lord Ram is my master”.

It is believed that no one in the history of this planet has been able to match Pawan putra’s focused approach in serving Lord Ram & his single minded, loyalty & devotion.

What is Jai Shri Ram ?

Jai Shri Ram is the Hindi Translation of Hail Lord Ram. “Shri” is the Hindi salutation which is used to depict respect towards males, likewise “Shrimati”, “Devi” is the respectable female salutation. Thus “Jai Shri Ram” translates to “Praise Lord Ram”

Pawan putra or Rudra Avatar or Anjaneya(son of Anjani) are the most common modes to address Lord Hanuman. He would utter “Jai Shri Ram” every time before starting something. Anything, task, work or daily activity that he would do, which could be very trivial or critical, would be preceded as well as superseded with cries of “Jai Shri Ram”.
