What to do & what to expect at the Kumbh Mela?

A lot of people who seek a respite from their highly commercialized & mechanical lifestyles & monotonous daily routine, step out for some pilgrimage or go on a spiritual journey. In the past there have been instances of people like Apple founder Steve Jobs and Hollywood celebrity Julia Roberts, to name a couple of them, visiting India in search of answers to questions that they could not find anywhere.

In fact, Steve Jobs stayed in India for quite some time & interacted with Yogis & saints of India. He spent a lot of time in the Uttarakhand region of India. He spent quite some time in an ashram built by Neem Karoli baba – a saint of India. Neem Karoli Baba was a great devotee of Lord Hanuman.

Neem Karoli Baba had passed away much before Steve Jobs arrived in India. So even though Steve did not meet the great saint, yet the vibes of Baba’s ashram, the teachings, sermons & philosophy which he gathered by interacting with the disciples & followers of Neem Karoli Baba had a very intensely positive impact on Steve.

On returning, after spending some time at the Neem Karoli Baba’s ashram, Steve Jobs founded a world renowned company which is now known as Apple Inc.

Thus, apart from taking a holy dip in the river, there is a possibility that you could come across a great saint like Neem Karoli Baba at the site of the Kumbh Mela or around it & get your purpose of life. A lot of possibilities can open up if you happen to meet a real, mystical & authentic Yogi/Saint.

NB – Warning :– Please beware of the fake Sadhus who try to dupe people by acting as Saints/Yogis. A lot of them are just crooks trying to cash in on the opportunity of raking in some money from the innocent people who believe these frauds.

They put on orange colored robes, wear chains/necklace made of beads, apply ashes on body, tilak on forehead to try & pull off a perfect stunt.

Unfortunately there is no fool proof method of distinguishing a real, genuine Yogi from the frauds…
